Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) in New Delhi, India is reported to become a Clean Development Mechnism Project, there by becoming first of its kind in the initiative. A recent study by the Central Road Research Institute (CRRI), has observed that DMRC achieved saving of 33,000 tonnes of fuel and reduced over 2,275 tonnes of GHG emissions. The energy conservation and efficiency by DMRC Qualifies as CDM project.
